Buffalo Wild Wings coming to Duluth

Plans are in the works for a Buffalo Wild Wings restaurant near Miller Hill Mall in Duluth.

The restaurant will go into the former Gander Mountain location, said Beth Wentzlaff, president of CMRA, the property manager for the building at 1307 Miller Trunk Highway.

The restaurant would occupy about one-fourth of the 36,000-square-foot former retail space.

Wentzlaff said bids are being accepted for renovation work, and a completion date has not yet been set.

Buffalo Wild Wings “has been looking for quite a long time — close to a year,” Wentzlaff said. “The timing is finally right for them.”

Wentzlaff said reconstruction work would include a kitchen, restrooms and walls. She estimated design work could take a couple of months.

Buffalo Wild Wings, which has more than 600 locations nationwide, has not returned repeated telephone calls.

  2. So we are finally catching up to St.Cloud, Fargo,Brainerd, and even Mankato. Bring on a Chipotle or a Lee Ann Chin’s and maybe we could be considered as trying to compete with a little more upscale casual food fare that other comparable, or even smaller, cities can boast.

  3. I can’t wait for BWW! My email from BWW said they plan to start construction around October 1st, with build-out within 10 weeks. Just think about all the things coming to Duluth!

    Texas Roadhouse
    Culver’s
    Five Guys Burgers and Fries
    Texas Roadhouse
    Residence Inn
Some kind of sports-bar on the Chalet Motel site

Construction is really getting a boost this year from business development. Would still LOVE to get a Chipotle and Panera – my fingers are crossed! If you want these businesses, it never hurts to send them mail/email telling them how much you enjoy their businesses and how much you would love to have one in Duluth.

  4. ya, can’t wait for those upscale casual buffalo chicken wings OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG OMG!!!!!! I hope they have lots of TV’s that play sports and lots of fat balding middle aged guys wearing their high school football jersey like me that I can hang around with and talk about sports and fantasy football and Grant Farve and neat stuff like that. And then maybe we can get some more really cool upscale casual places like you see in really cool towns like Dubuque and Scranton that use super unusual spices like ketchup and ground pepper and I can bring a date there or my mom or something like a group thing if my old pals from high school come back to OUR BW3, cause it’s gonna be the best!

  5. I would love to see Duluth get a Fresh & Easy grocery store, a Trader Joes, a Burlington Coat Factory & a Big Lots…I think there is a real market for these types of businesses.

  6. I live in the Twin Cities area now and I don’t even go to this place anymore. Nothing really special. What I would like to see is someone reincarnate the old House of Donuts that used to be at 624 East 4th street. I am talking about when the Carters still owned it. That place is sadly missed by many all around the country. Not just former residents but all the college people who moved on and then came back to visit Duluth only to find it gone. Butterbars, Donuts, Soft and hard shell tacos and the best subs around. Aside from Blackwoods, House of Donuts was worth the trip up from the cities.
