The first-time homebuyer tax credit, which runs out at the end of the month, is set to be extended by Congress until April 30, said a spokeswoman for Sen. Amy Klobuchar.

The $8,000 credit toward the purchase of your first home is currently included in the bill that extends unemployment benefits, Erikka Knuti said Wednesday. The bill is being worked out in the Senate and the House and could come to President Obama’s desk within a week, Knuti said.
